RT Roundup in Review…

Happy Monday! Today is the first day I’ve been able to sit in front of my computer since the RT Roundup. I’m not sure where to start…so let’s just get to it. Please excuse me if it’s all over the place. This was a year in the making, so seeing everyone and hanging out was high on my list of “to-do” items.

Highlights:

  1. Amalie Silver – Thursday, I went to Hobby Airport to pick up my friend, co-author, and this all around super awesome chick. Amalie Silver (or Amy as she kept telling everyone)…come to think of it, I’m not sure WHO she really is (J/K). I just love her. I was so ready to get the girls off to school the next day so I could see her and visit and just chill. (No, not Netflix and Chill…just chill.) Spending the weekend with one of my dear friends was exactly what I needed. You know you’re close when there are barely any secrets between you. Lol! I miss you Amy.
  2. Penny Reid – OMG. Penny!! We didn’t see much of each other the couple of days we were there. But seeing her face and hugging her…best! I texted her last night because I knew she was still around. We decided to get together for breakfast and I gave her a ride to the airport. It was all part of my master plan to get some alone time from one of the good guys. Anyone who knows Penny knows I speak the truth here. She is absolutely one of those people who gets it and doesn’t get caught up in the drama out there. And her PA Angie is right there too. I love Angie and wish I could see her more. Shocking we don’t since I’m in CS almost every weekend during football season. LOL.
  3. Sierra Cartwright – Sierra lives close enough that we could see each other everyday. But we don’t. So I have to settle for the now – 5 month – spurts. But seeing her and chatting and getting her wonderful guidance and support is enough to make any girl feel special. I wish Whit had been able to make it in town for this event, but you can’t control everything. I’ll see her sometime soon, I hope! ❤
  4. Molly McAdams – ALWAYS a highlight for me. Molly is one of the most genuine, sweet, funny, and adorable people I know. Period. She was there with Cory and their precious little Angel. I wish I had gotten to visit more, but Peese and my mom got to see her, it’s been almost 2 years for them. Yeah….Peese was pretty excited. She took me aside and asked, “Are we allowed to read Mrs. Molly’s books?” Molly and I both said. “No.” LOL!!
  5. Colleen Hoover & Anna Todd – Again, Colleen is someone I always love seeing. She and Anna had tables back to back and I have to saw, Amy/Amalie and I were in awe of the fans waiting to see them. Seriously…crazy long line and so impressive to see them interact with these readers.
  6. Mom, Peese, Sis and Niece – All 4 came to check out the signing and I think Sis and Niece were beyond excited about CoHo! (Isn’t everyone!?!) Peese got to see many of my author friends that she’s only heard of, as well as see some old faces. Best part, loved when mom saw Erin Spencer of SBBB. We go WAAAYYYY back. Lol. P.S. Erin and Katie were also lovely highlights to Saturday!! ❤ I love my family for coming out and supporting me and my fellow authors.
  7. CJ Roberts – Okay, let me say this now…I LOVE CJ! She’s so stinkin’ cute and funny. I don’t think these words do her justice. Charming. She’s utterly charming and had us laughing so much. I don’t know when I get to see her again, but it’s not soon enough!
  8. Erin Noelle & Kayla Robichaux & Blue – We didn’t get to spend as much time as I’d like, but luckily, we all live close enough to do it soon. Our little trio headed over to a panel where some super sweet ladies joined us as we talked books and publishing. Thank you to all those ladies for visiting with us!! And Blue…you were having too much fun. You need to fix that. LOL! I’m sorry we didn’t see more of each other…and where the hell was my sitter????? I really needed her!!!
  9. Lynsey & SL – When I see Lynsey, she starts out quiet…keeping to herself for a bit. And then BAM! Lol. She is sweet and her smile is contagious. Amalie/Amy and I sat with her at the bar for hours harassing Patrick the bartender and talking all things books. And where Lynsey is, I know I’ll see SL. I think Lynsey and SL have the same disease…they spread smiles…it’s contagious! I will forever be grateful to SL for putting me in touch with her sweet momma who is our travel agent. And I finally got to meet her too!!
  10. Husband – My husband came to the hotel Saturday after doing all parent duties for the weekend and dropping the girls off with my parents. I don’t talk about him often because he’s special to me and I keep the special for me. But I’m so blessed to have him by my side supporting me. I’d be lost without him. And this is the one time he got to actually be with me and not have to be the DD. Needless to say, we had a blast together and with everyone there. I blame Heather Lane and Sierra for getting me drunk, since they bought me the 2 drinks I hadn’t planned on. LOL!

I’m sure I’ve missed something here, but I’m still trying to come down from this weekend. I loved meeting everyone and thank you so much for the kind words and support. It means more than I can express.

2 years…

IMG_4532

July 2, marked 2 years since I published my first book, Being There. If you’ve read my blog before, you know that it was a “bucket list” item that I added when I turned 35. And here I am, two years later with 4 books out. 🙂

These two years have been filled with personal growth and, I hope, professional growth. I’ve made some wonderful friends and learned things along the way. It’s been both challenging and rewarding, but it’s also given me something to do…something I’ve always wanted to do but never thought possible.

So…I thought I’d share some things I’ve learned in the last two years:

  1. Allowing yourself to pursue your dreams is one of the most empowering feelings ever. No matter how outlandish it may seem at the time, why not dream big? If you fall flat on your face, you still tried! So yeah, I continue to dream big…and sometimes fail bigger, but that’s all part of it. I learn something every time, and more importantly, my girls see that I’m at trying. Seeing their pride and interest what I do inspires me. Daily.
  2. Support comes in all forms. It may be your family who have known you your entire life. It may be someone who has recently come into your life. And it may even be someone that you have never met. Don’t underestimate the power of supportive people. First step, believe you can do it, second, letting others believe it with you.
  3. Not everyone is going to love you or the things you do. This is true in every. aspect. of life. And it’s totally okay. And guess what, you’re not going to love everyone. If you can accept this, I believe you will be a much more content person. How exhausting it must be to try to please people all the time. 😛
  4. Be open to criticism. And no, I’m not talking about vicious, hateful words that make you crawl into a corn and rocking yourself as you cry. I’m talking about people who you respect and who respect you. The ones that take the time to care about you and what you’re doing. The ones who see mistakes or where you can better yourself and offer their opinion. This is how your improve as a person and a professional.
  5. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Ever! The moment you do, you’re bound to fall. You have to have a sense of humor. The tagline on my email has been the same for years…and it’s a line from one of my favorite band, Tripping Daisy – “Laugh at what you did today, it’s all been done before.”
  6. Be humble! OMG….PLEASE.BE.HUMBLE! I’ve said numerous times that the people who are successful, but don’t it let go to their head are my heroes. I’ve not had the success of those around me, but I’m so excited for those who have found it. Many of those have far exceeded their own expectations, but they don’t have an air of superiority about them. If I ever find success, those are the ones I would want to emulate. (I’m talking to you Colleen, Molly, and Abbi. I ❤ you so much!) There are others who have forgotten their roots, the people that were with them in the beginning…I don’t ever want to be that.
  7. Remember that you don’t know everything. Wow…I’m serious. I don’t know everything, but I want to learn. A lot of times, it’s hit or miss for me, there is no “formula” that I know of to be successful. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another, but that’s okay, try anyway. Those that are willing to share their experience and knowledge are invaluable. *Note – It’s important to pay it forward. Do unto others…

I’m sure there are more lessons that I’ve learned, but these are the ones that come to mind at the moment. If you’ve gotten this far in this post….you’re kind of awesome. 😉 As school is starting up again soon, I’m excited to continue working on 5 different books that I’ve started. The 3 month hiatus has been just what I needed…the time with the family is priceless.

My point for this entire thing is both a “thank you” and “how did I get here?” post. This journey hasn’t been the easiest, but I can’t imagine any other that would bring so much joy, tears, frustration, and absolute fulfillment. My husband and kids aside, this is the best part of my daily life. ❤

  • Third, I wanted to share links for ways you can follow/connect with me online:
  • Fourth, if you’ve been on the fence about whether or not #FindingLaila is the read for you, I wanted to share an excerpt. Maybe this will sway you toward reading 😉 :
    • Excerpt from Chapter 1“I guess we know the flavor of the week,” a female voice says from behind me, causing several others with her to laugh.I know they’re talking about me. They’re always talking about me. It’s been this way since I was in seventh grade, but I’ve made it my mission to ignore it.

“She certainly gets around,” another voice chimes in.

Cole is sitting to my left, Haden to my right and both guys are staring at the field, but neither is paying attention to the game. I watch out of my peripheral as Haden’s forearm muscles tense and relax while Cole bites his lip. They are intently focused on the words being thrown at me, but keep quiet for the time being.

“She must be good because they all stick around,” a guy’s voice states in salacious tone that makes me nauseous.

I don’t wait for another barb to be hurled my way, even though I know it’s coming. I throw my arm around Haden and whisper something in his ear before kissing his cheek then turning to do the same to Cole. I lean forward to see Joey, who is next to Cole and give him a wink, “I’ll get you later, Baby.”

He shakes his head and laughs, “Why must you stir the pot?”

Haden smiles – proud of my display – and it pushes me on.

I turn to look at the three classmates who have stopped chattering long enough to watch my little show, jaws hanging open. I shrug my shoulders, and answer Joey, “I’m just giving them what they want.”

One of the girls, Kasey, looks at me and raises a brow, “And what about Braxton?”

I glance over to Cole who’s listening to everything, but is still watching the game. He smirks, as if he knows what’s coming and a smile of my own begins to break.

They are gawking at me when I turn and wet my lips before winking at the girls.

“If he wins, we all win,” I say huskily.

“Touchdown!” The announcer yells and the crowd jumps to their feet to celebrate. All but the three jerks behind me.

Thank you so much for all the kind birthday wishes and reading this thing all the way to this point! ❤ I love you all so much and thank you for your support and encouragement. I’m still nervous about release day, but for some reason, not as scared as the other times. I absolutely love this book and it feels weird to admit that because I don’t want to sound obnoxious. I just truly loved writing it and fell in love with every character. So much that I wanted to live in my head and experience life WITH them. If you honor me with reading it for yourself, I hope that it touches you the way it did for me when I wrote it. And if it does, I would love to hear your thoughts if you review, so share with me. Please?

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and you’ll be seeing me again…soon!! ❤

😎 And duh, Come Get it Bae by Pharrell

Meet Laila…

When Laila called and asked me for a favor, the first thing I asked, “What’s in it for me?”

Of course she laughed, as only Lai does, because she knows how much I like attention. She said that she was having a hard time because T.K. Rapp asked her to take over her blog page and tell people about us. Not sure what people want to know, but I do love talking (not so much typing) – so yeah, here I am (and she’s reading over my shoulder…she knows how much I hate that.)

*Ow!* she hit me for that one. It didn’t really hurt and now she’s glaring at me.

Anyway, my name is Cole Cameron, and I’ve known Lai for a long time. We might not have gotten along at first, but now she’s like that annoying little stray you find that won’t go away.

Ha! She missed me that time.

But seriously, Lai moved to Cedar Lane a long time ago and became one of the guys.

Hold on, let me send her away, I can’t do this with her breathing down my neck….

Okay, I can type a little more freely now, as I was saying…when she moved here, we were about five, I guess. I’ve lived here since the day I was born and grew up with Braxton, Joey and Haden. The four of us played together all the time and then she came into the picture. I wasn’t a fan at first, but then she grew on me – like fungus. (Kidding, Lai…because I know she’ll read this later.)

The five of us have always been together and our families get along well, too. Fourth of July picnics, weekend BBQs, Sunday football – you name it, we’re all together. It’s not as creepy as it sounds. Sometimes it would get to be a little too much, but the five of us have always hung out. (Like your favorite pair of worn out boxers.)

So, Lai asked me to tell you a little bit about everyone. I suppose by now, you’ve heard about her “barmy.” (I hate that name, but if I tell her, she’ll only use it more.) She says we’re her boy-army and she did that stupid thing where she smushed it together to get one lazy name. Barmy.

ColeSo let’s start with me. I’m the cool one of the group. Kidding. I’ll say I’m probably the cut-up, the one everyone thinks plays hard and studies less. But I do study…they just don’t see it. I’ve played soccer since I was a kid and I’m pretty good at it – played for the Varsity team since sophomore year. I do all right with the chicks. (Lai hates when I call girls that.) I’m always pushing to get her to set me up with someone, but she’s yet to take me up on that.

HadenMoving on, we have Haden Searle. Haden is definitely the quiet one of the group. It’s a little creepy at times because he’s always watching and waiting. When he does speak, it almost seems as if he’s just woken up because you think he doesn’t notice things, but he does. Haden’s an artist – and damn good at it. His parents put him in art classes when he was a kid because they saw a natural talent in him and he’s been doing it ever since. It’s funny that people are afraid of him because I don’t think I’ve ever seen him hurt a fly.

BraxtonNext, we have Braxton Jameson. If we were a gang, people would assume he’s the leader. Why? I have no idea. Probably because he plays every sport, all the girls want to date him and he’s pretty popular. He’s the oldest and when we were kids, I guess it was Brax who ran the show. But these days, he’s just one of us. He doesn’t let his popularity go to his head, but then again, I don’t think Lai, or the rest of us for that matter, would let it. Brax is a good guy, hell, I’m friends with him for the girls. Kidding, Brax.

JoeyAlright, next is Joey Parker, resident nerd, but good guy. He is a nerd, and he knows it, I’m not being mean when I call him that. Joe will be the next Bill Gates – or someone else wicked smart. He and Lai are probably the closest of all of us. I talk to Lai or text once a day, unless I need something. They talk all the time. When we’re in a group, sometimes it looks they’re having their own conversation, without saying anything at all.

LailaThen there’s the princess of the group. (I called her that because I know she’d hate it.) Laila Nixon. To say that people don’t like her is an understatement. I’m not completely self-absorbed. I’ve seen the way other girls at school look at her, like she’s wearing a scarlet letter or something like that. That sucks for me, because if she had actual girl-friends, maybe she’d have someone to set me up with. Laila is protective of us guys, not that we need it, but I think we like the attention. She’s not like your typical high school girl. She’s pretty, don’t get me wrong, but she’s not hung up on name brands, the latest styles or wearing a lot of makeup. She doesn’t try too hard, and if Lai thinks you’re a good person, you’re in for life. I guess that’s why we’ve always looked after her and want to be there for her.

I know she’s nervous about this story coming out, but she has nothing to worry about. In fact, I read it (but don’t tell Lai.)It was pretty damn good. I’m not much of a reader, especially chick books, but it’s worth the read.

Oh yeah, she also asked me to mention that T.K. Rapp has Finding Laila on preorder for $2.99 and then after it comes out, it’ll be $3.99. I’ll add the link, in case you want to buy it. Let me say this…you’ll want to read it. Hell, you SHOULD read it, because I’M in it. Just sayin’. 😉

Anyway, the book comes out on January 13th – Buy it. Read it. Love it. Review it.

Penned Con 2014…

IMG_0174I’m still trying to recoup from St. Louis and Penned Con 2014. Were you there?

I have been raving over this event because Rick & Amy Miles really did a fantastic job with this event. The weekend raised just over $11,000 for Action for Autism and I have a feeling next year will be even more successful!

It was so awesome to meet fellow authors, readers and bloggers. Amazing! Okay, before I get all weird and stuff, here are some highlights for me:

  1. My best friend drove in to be my assistant, which is code for, “company!” She has given herself the title of, “Director of Sales, Midwest Division.” HA!!! I’m so glad that she was there with me. We visit each other every year, so this was our trip – and first girl’s only weekend!
  2. Goose! Come in Goose! YES!!! I finally – after a year of texting, talking and IMing – met THE Kimberly Stedronsky! I love her even more now and adore her sister! Kim was the first person to reach out to me when I published and we are huge fans of each other’s work. To hug her in person – dream come true! And if you haven’t read her Roam series, you need to, because this was the series that hooked me!
  3. Do you follow Penny for My Thoughts Book Blog? Okay, I do – because of Lisa Karafa. She has been one of my biggest champions and supporters since I published and to hug her and hang out in person was so wonderful!
  4. A year ago, I connected with a woman who would fast become a trusted friend and source for a swift kick in the ass when needed. That would be one – Amalie Silver! We chat daily and this summer I finally got to hear her lovely voice. But this weekend, totally got to hang out with her and her editor, Amy Jackson, who is so fun! Kari and I ran with these two and I never tired of it. Now just to figure out how to get her near me again. HAHA!
  5. Flight out – Free drinks! Am I right, Angie? Angie Hulsman – a.k.a. Penny Reid’s assistant – doesn’t live too far from me, so we made arrangements to fly out together. There was talk of turbulence, but we never noticed a thing. Our wonderful flight attendant comped our drinks, so we were good to go. Angie and I talked the entire 2 hour flight and I was so glad she was there.
  6. Kahlen Aymes!!! Again, another wonderful author that I have become friends with. She is business savvy, down to earth and super sweet! Oh, and I loved her table set up with “prescriptions” from Dr. Matthews!!
  7. Colleen Hoover. I think this one speaks for itself because it’s Colleen Freakin’ Hoover! Again, if you haven’t met her, you’re missing out. I have to brag about her for a second because, in this industry – or any for that matter, there can be egos. People forget where they came from, some step on others to get to the next plot point or just don’t give a damn. NOT COLLEEN! This woman is such an inspiration, not only because of what she writes (because I’m a HUGE fan) but because of the way she handles her success. She is the kindest, funniest, smartest and most humble person. People could take notes on how to handle success by looking at Colleen. She makes time for people, loves her fans and never acts like she’s something she’s not. Meet this woman – it is a requirement!
  8. Penny Reid, as always, is so much fun to see. If you haven’t met her yet, you need to get on that. I’m not sure how to describe her, but I know whatever complimentary thing I say, she’ll blow me off and call me crazy – because that’s how she rolls.
  9. Lori Otto – OMG, she is so cute and sweet! She has fantastic fans and watching them surround her and hang with her, she was adorable. I don’t know if she realizes how great she is, but what sticks out to me is how humble and grounded she is. I want to figure out a way to be around her again. (Oh!! And her swag is seriously some of the best I have ever seen!)
  10. Jenn Beach – another blogger I connected with a year ago through Lisa. (See how that works?) Jenn surprised the hell out of me because for over a year, I’ve heard how shy and introverted she is, but not this weekend. She was engaging, chatty, and all over the place. It was so great to see that side of her in person, because I see it online all the time!
  11. GREAT Keynote speakers and panels! Jasinda Wilder opened the weekend up with an inspiring and honest account of her career. She and her husband are so cute together and I took much away from her talk. Mark Coker had some insight into the self-publishing world that was great. I really wish they had closed the signing room during his talk so that more authors could hear him – invaluable information.
  12. The First Annual Penned Con Awards! Set up Oscar-style. There were trophies, envelopes and acceptance speeches that had everyone laughing. Whether you were in jeans (like me) or opting for a formal gown (yes, this is true) it was a great time! Oh and the finished it off with cupcakes! Yes, please!!!

I know there is so much more I could cover, but I don’t know where to go from here. This was a fabulous signing and I can’t wait for next year. If you missed this one, tickets are on sale for next year and it benefits a great cause!!!

Until next time, here are some pic from the weekend and you can check out the rest on my Facebook page.

XO ❤

Comfort Zones…

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines the phrase, “comfort zone” as:

A place or situation where one feels safe or at ease and without stress.

comfortzone

We all have it – that place where it makes it harder to step out of the boundaries we’ve created for ourselves. For me, it comes in many forms, as I like to walk on the safe side of the line and not make any waves. I’ve always erred on the side of caution and it’s gotten me to the age of 36. I’m not a fan of roller coasters, I don’t like to be scared, I hate water that isn’t a pool…you get the idea.

Why is this the topic of my blog post for today? Well, I will tell you.

Sometimes, I have been known to step out of that comfort zone. It doesn’t happen often, and when it does, you better have a camera ready – it might not happen again if it goes bad! LOL! See exhibit A…

Exhibit A - PROOF

Last summer, I went White Water Rafting with my family and my best friend’s family (evidence above). It was bucket list item because – well, I thought I’d never do it. It was cold, rainy, exhausting and completely exhilarating. I can’t wait to do it again. A few weeks ago, my husband and I took our daughters zip lining – another bucket list item and it was beyond words! (again, the proof is visible above) Stepping out of my comfort zone has opened me up to so many possibilities and I have to say, it is very exciting to move out of the self-imposed limits.

As a writer, I write within my comfort zone. It’s hard to push myself to be and do more in my books than I do. (Not sure if that makes sense.) We write what we know – and if we don’t know it – we research it. As a reader, I read books that catch my eye, that are referred to me or that are popular. I tend to stay away from horror, paranormal, mystery and thriller. I know!! How disappointing!

But, that’s not to say I never branch out. Last year, I met someone online who has become one of my closest friends, Kim Stedronsky. She was reading my book, Being There, and I was reading her book, Roam. This is a paranormal romance novel – actually it’s a series – and I as I mentioned, not exactly my genre. But as I started reading it, I fell in love with the story! The characters, the writing, the locations…everything about this series riveted me. There were so many ingenious elements that I was truly mesmerized. I loved it so much! Had I not taken a chance on something different than my norm, I never would have opened myself to the possibilities.

This happened again very recently! I am NOT NOT NOT a horror person. I don’t do haunted houses. I don’t do horror movies. I don’t read anything that might scare me. I’m the biggest baby. EVER! My husband had a zombie movie on and I watched through my fingers until I had to leave the room altogether. Hell, I didn’t even watch the first Halloween movie until I was 19. If that gives you an idea of my level of discomfort with scary things…

Anyway, my friend, the amazing, funny and smart, Claire C. Riley – writes horror. I’ve wanted to read her books because I’ve heard such great things about them, but again – Scaredy Cat here!

September-09-2012-11-43-57-d2fSe

My own shadow scared me sometimes!

Claire has a series out – The Dead Saga – and I finally sat down to read the first one. Odium. She knew I was reading it, but she also knew this was way out of my comfort zone. I kept telling her I was putting on my big girl panties so I could dive in. I was nervous. Zombies? HELL NO! Zombie Apocalypse – EFF NO! My friend was going to do a Zombie Run and I told him and his wife “NO! I’d probably hit someone out of sheer panic. No thanks!”

So reading Odium was a pretty big thing for me. I realize not everyone has the same fears as me, so I’m trying to paint the picture here. LOL!

I devoured this book! My husband was annoyed because I couldn’t put it down. All I wanted to do was read to find out what happens! Nina. Emily-Rose. Mikey. Crunch. JD – the list of colorful characters trying to make it had me wanting more. I finished the book and I’m so happy that I took a chance on something out of my norm.

Will I read other Zombie or horror books? Only time will tell. But I will be reading the rest of the Odium Books (The Dead Saga) by Claire because it was so damn good!

So bottom line – the reason behind this entire post – step out of your comfort zone. Try something different. Read a book by an author you’ve never heard of. Read a genre that you wouldn’t normally read. You never know what you’re going to discover out there in the book world that changes your mind.

Happy…

So this past Saturday, I attended the Houston Author Bash, hosted by Wines & Labels Productions. This was my first signing and I met some wonderful people! I’m still exhausted from the whole thing…but in the best way possible.

RS & ME

RS & Me

I was table buddies with RS Grey, who I’ve had the pleasure of meeting before. She’s so stinkin’ cute and about the nicestest person one could meet. And her boyfriend, Lance is a genuinely nice and funny guy. These two together…magic! (LOL, cheesy, I know!) RS and I are not only FB buddies, but we sprint and text and vent; I love this girl!

Icing on the cake? This weekend, I got to meet Penny Reid. Have you read her books?? AMAZING!! Have you met her in person?? AMAZING-ER!! I was terribly nervous to meet her, especially after having read an ARC of Love Hacked. This book was intelligent, witty, sexy and just plain awesome. So…what if my newest hero didn’t match up to her work???

Penny Reid, RS & Me

Penny Reid, RS & Me

Crisis averted, because…duh, said it above – AMAZING-ER! She had a crowd around her that was mesmerized and entertained by her stories, love of knitting and whatever else she wanted to talk about.

The other person I was dying to meet was Erin of Southern Belle Book Blog. Let me tell you a little story:

Back in October, I went to the Austin Author Event with RS, where we eagerly awaited meeting Colleen Hoover and Molly McAdams, among others. While I was waiting for RS, I was standing in line behind a girl with a HUGE….H-U-G-E bag of books. She was with a man, who I assumed was her husband, and they moved aside to sort her books. I left the gap open so she could resume her place because, well, anyone with that many books deserves her spot! 🙂 She ended up meeting up with some friends and joined them in line and that was the end of it. Or so I thought….

Cut to about a week or two later, I get a message on my FB author account from someone that went something like this:
ERIN: “…..If I ask you this crazy question, will you promise not to think I’m like a stalker? Lol So I had seen somewhere (who knows where) that a few authors would be at the Austin signing as fans…..” “Were you near the end of the line around…say 11:45ish? Next to a girl with a large VS pink tote?”

ME: “LOL! That’s hilarious!! I was there….and that sounds like the girl I was in line behind. Was that you???”

And the rest is history! Erin is one of my dear, lovely friends who texts or messages me daily, and I love it! So, we FINALLY got to meet IRL, and hug and be silly and laugh hysterically for, well…..a ton of hours!

Erin, RS, Penny and I, along with Lance, my mom and Angie (Penny’s assistant) went to dinner with some of Penny’s fabulous fans after the event was over and we had so much fun. The entire experience was surreal and overwhelming, but I’m so glad I was with all of these people to experience it firsthand. I loved meeting new people like, Stacy Borel, Vicki Green, Nikki Narvaez, Danielle Jamie & Erin Noelle, and chatting with bloggers and readers. Here are a few more pics from the day.

Have a great Hump Day!!
